WoW Cooking Guide
Everyone can learn to cook! Well, at least
in World of Warcraft. Cooking is a secondary profession
and in this WoW Cooking Guide I’ll describe some of the
basics.
One of the major
benefits of cooking is its ability to heal you. So if you’re
a solo player or a non healer this is a great secondary
profession to have.
WoW
Cooking- Getting Started 1-150
Having a WoW cooking
guide will help you level this profession fast. First,
you’ll need to find a trainer. They can be found in large
cities usually near a fire or pot. Ask a guard if you’re
having trouble finding one. Once you’ve become an apprentice
you need to find the recipe ingredients. This can include
meat, fish, and spices and of course you’ll need a fire. You
can cook on any fire including stoves and fireplaces, but
learning how to make your own campfire will allow you to
cook anywhere.
To make your own fire
you’ll need flint, tinder and some wood.
Cooking Expert
125-225
To become an expert
cook you need to buy an Expert Cookbook. Horde will find
these in Shadowprey Village, Desolace and Alliance can find
it in Silverwind Refuge, Ashenvale. Or you can go to Dirge
Quikcleve in Gadgetzan. The WoW cooking guide that’s
included with the Ultimate WoW guide will describe
everything much more.

Artisan
200-300
To level to Artisan in
cooking you’ll need to do some questing. Two cooking
trainers are available Zamja in Ogrimmar and Daryl Riknussun
in Ironforge for Horde and Alliance respectively.
Master
300-375
To become a Master
cook get a book from the Hellfire Peninsula.
Recipes
Recipes can be
obtained as loot from monsters or chests, questing, or you
can buy them.
Cooking, as a
secondary profession, goes extremely well with fishing. See
my WoW fishing guide.
The reason for this is that you’re obviously getting an
important ingredient for cooking. Recipes can be found in
the WoW Cooking Guide I recommend. Cooked Fish also provide
more healing power and can be sold for more. Some fish
recipes include Blackened Trout, Blackened Sporefish, Golden
Fish Sticks and Spicy Crawdad.
Just about anything
you cook can be sold for profit to other players. An
additional benefit of cooking that should be mentioned is
that many recipes give buffs that can last 30 minutes, this
can be great during raids or any situation you may need
them.
Now, if you’re not
doing fishing and want to level up past 300 then you’ll need
to go to Hellfire Peninsula at the wreckage and do some
quests.
Getting to level 375
can either be done through fishing as mentioned before or by
killing monsters and cooking them.
