Fishing in World of Warcraft is classified as a secondary profession. It is basically a gathering profession similar to mining and skinning, but in some way it is a game unto its own. Steps to WoW Fishing

Here are some steps required for the fishing profession. Remember a WoW fishing guide is your best bet to catching more fish and less junk.

Step 1: Buy a fishing pole

You’ll only need a basic fishing pole to start with. They can be bought from a Fishing Supplier or Trade Supplier. Their usually located near water and are often near fishing trainers. The price of a basic pole will run about 23 copper.

Step 2: Find a Fishing Trainer

Fishing trainers are located near water as you would expect and are in capital cites and other zones too. If you have a hard time finding one just ask a guard. To become a fishing apprentice it’ll cost about one silver.

Step 3: Find a body of water

When fishing in WoW, its best to be in a calm and peaceful place so you don’t have to be in combat and you can hear the water splash, which will help you know when you’ve caught something. Step 4: Equip Your Pole

In the character screen, drag the pole to your main hand slot.

Step 5: Spellbook

Once you’ve learn fishing from a trainer you’ll find the fishing icon in your Spellbook. It’s best to drag this icon onto your action bar for convenience.

Step 6: Cast your line

You cast your line using the Fishing Icon you just dragged onto your action bar. Just click the icon, if you see a bobber appear on the water you’ve done it. If for some reason you get a message that the water isn’t fishable, find a bigger and deeper body of water. Step 7: Reel In Your Catch

Wait for your bobber to dip, you’ll also hear a splash. Once this happens, quickly right click on the bobber in order to reel it in. Take the fish from the loot box and put into the inventory.

The lower your skill level in fishing the more junk you’ll end up catching. Apprentice level will last up to skill level 75. You’ll need to find a trainer who can train you as a journeyman for the next skill level. You’ll need to catch about 2,700 to skill up to level 450. A good strategy while fishing in WoW is to try to catch the more valuable fish. It will take a little longer but you’ll end up earn some decent gold.
