WoW Priest Guide
The Priest is one of the main classes in
World of Warcraft. They are exceptional allies for any
group for their incredible ability to heal and protect not
only themselves but also their allies in battle. In the
WoW Priest guide I’ll talk about the
strengths, weaknesses, and talents of this formidable
class.
As I mentioned, priests are great at using
enchantment spells to protect themselves and their allies in
a group. They can also resurrect their fallen friends and
deliver destruction to their enemies.
The first thing to talk about in the WoW
Priest guide is some of their abilities.
-
Healing: They can
heal single targets as well as groups and
Resurrection
-
Holy Magic: Buffs,
can Dispel and Cure, and inflict Damage
-
Shadow Magic: Various
Damage including, direct, and over time, mana
drains, aggro control, and Mind Control
Priests also have some limited crowd
control ability. Some weaknesses of this class are that they
are restricted to cloth armor. Weapons are usually single
handed maces and wands, and you can learn daggers and
staves. These limitations combined make the priest poor at
melee and they have pretty low hit points.

One of the major challenges of this class
is becoming a really good healer. It requires lots of
concentration and some quick reflexes in a group. Playing as
a Priest will be made a lot easier with the WoW Priest guide
that you’ll find with the Ultimate WoW Guide…check it out,
you won’t be disappointed.
WoW Priest Guide:
Talents
There are 3 main talent trees to choose
from. They are Discipline, Holy and Shadow.
-
Discipline: Being a
Discipline Priest is great for group raids and for
PvP. You’ll be focusing on damage control and
healing and protection. This Priest’s main
objective is keeping the tank alive. This is
accomplished with Penance; perhaps one of the most
efficient single target heals in the entire game.
In PvP you’ll be able to keep yourself alive. Some
of your abilities are Fortitude, Inner Fire and
Shield.
-
Holy: Holy Priests
are the most versatile when it comes to healing and
are exceptional at healing groups. The various
abilities include Spiritual guidance, Circle of
Healing, and Guardian Spirit.
-
Shadow: This is the
Priest build you’d want for inflicting damage on
your enemies in battle. One of the spells you’ll
use is Mind Flay, which not only damages your enemy
but slows their movements by 50%. Specifically, in
regards to PvP, two spells you’ll need are Silence
and Psychic Scream. With the release of the Wrath
of the Lich King two more spells have been added
that enhance the Priest class. They are Dispersion
and Mind Sear.
Dispersion is a mana regeneration spell
that allows the priest to recover mana quickly. Mind Sear is
an area of affect spell.
In order to level the Priest class you
need to select the right gear and talent build. To learn the
best gear and talent builds to level to 80 I recommend you
check out the WoW Priest Guide that comes as part of the
Ultimate WoW Guide. It was most recently update for the Call
of the Crusade patch.
